Megan Thee Stallion really went full Miss Cleo on us in her audition tape for VH1’s Love & Hip Hop. Without even knowing it, she manifested her future with the words she said to catch producer Mona Scott-Young's attention, and TBH we’re surprised Meg was never cast on the popular reality TV show.

Before she became one of the hottest rappers in the industry and a household name, Meg wanted to become part of the Love & Hip Hop family, where many rappers get their debut to fame like Cardi B, Mariahlynn and Sukihana. The Love & Hip Hop franchise is also home to many music industry veterans like Remy Ma, Papoose, Jim Jones, Spice, Ray J, Trina, Trick Daddy and more.

In honour of VH1’s #LHHUnlocked series, they released the “WAP” rapper’s audition tape on Instagram and included cast members reactions. "Did y'all konw @theestallion was ALMOST a Love and Hip Hop alum? Would you have liked to have had a Hot Girl SEASON?" the caption read.

“It’s Megan Thee Stallion, aka Young Tina Snow, aka the H-Town Hottie. I’m from Houston, Texas, and I’m just the best female rapper that’s popping right now,” Megan says in her 2013 audition. “And on top of that, I’m a full-time college student, okay.”

Meg says that her mom was a female rapper and she told her that she wanted to follow in her footsteps. Her mom shut the idea down and told the “Savage” hitmaker that she could not rap. The lies, the lies.

"Megan Thee Stallion is just gonna become that household name," she says in the tape. "When you’re talking about those popping rappers, I’m going to be in that conversation.” Manifestation at it’s finest! You can’t talk about females in the hip-hop industry without mentioning Megan Thee Stallion.

“That is everything. Y’all fumbled the bag. Y’all should have put her on the show,” says Sukihana, from the cast of Love & Hip Hop Miami. ”Watch the overlook you overbook. Look at her now. Superstar.” Sukihana was also featured in Meg and Cardi’s “WAP” music video.

Sukihanna is right! How could Mona see Meg's passion and that body-ody-ody-ody and not cast her on the show? It remains unclear which series Meg was auditioning for. Was it Atlanta, New York, Hollywood or Miami? We might never know.

There was a Love & Hip Hop: Houston in the works. It began filming in June 2016 and starred Jhonni Blaze, but chaos erupted at the first shoot when Jhonni and Kat St. John got into an argument with Just Brittany, Aysia Garza and Jela. The scene went from a film set to chaos, and one producer allegedly had a gun put in their face, and a cameraman was reportedly thrown to the ground and threatened. Production was put on hold later that month and allegedly resumed filming in August 2016, but it was reported that the series was cancelled in November of that same year, and we never caught a glimpse at the drama that unfolded.

Safe to say this Houston Hottie didn’t need a Love & Hip Hop storyline to get to the top of the charts. She did it all on her own, and she took an unpredictable 2020 and made it her year. The 25-year-old rapper had her hit song "Savage" that caught Beyoncé's attention, her TikTok dance challenges, her collab with Cardi B on "WAP," and all of the cover shoots including Rolling Stone and being named GQ's rapper of the year.

Meg is now a four time Grammy-nominated rapper for the 2021 ceremony including, Best Rap Song for “Savage” remix, Best New Artist, Record of the Year for “Savage” remix and Best Rap Performance for “Savage” remix. Love & Hip Hop who?
