It’s important to shine a light on mental health after a tumultuous year now more than ever. For the 11th year in a row, #BellLetsTalkDay uses the hashtag to spread awareness on Thursday, Jan. 28, but that’s not all.

Today an all-new special was announced, titled, In This Together: A Bell Let’s Talk Day Special, hosted by etalk’s Tyrone Edwards and The Social’s Melissa Grelo. The special (airing at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, CTV2, CTV.ca and CTV app, and stream on Crave) will feature important discussions with Canadians who share their mental health journey through a year that brought forward difficult challenges across the entire country (and world). It's a reminder that the country must work together to bring long-lasting change to mental health awareness and help destigmatize the topic by having conversations.

In This Together features remarkable Canadians sharing their personal and professional stories, along with celebrities raising awareness about mental health, including Grey’s Anatomy star Giacomo Gianniotti, Alanis Morissette, Call Me Kat star Mayim Bialik, actress Malin Akerman, Barenaked Ladies drummer Tyler Stewart and NFL player Jabari Greer.

Other notable guests appearing in the special include Aisha Alfa, Alan Doyle, Candy Palmater, Jewel, Johnny Reid, and more. The Canadians sharing their personal and professional stories include Toronto teacher Amanda Ricketts Fredrick, author David A. Robertson, mental health advocate Ezechiel Nana, grocery store manager Kallisha Hoyes and more.

The special will feature several segments, including conversations about parenting in a pandemic, race, mental health, COVID-19 essential workers and more. Alanis Morissette and Traci Melchor will be speaking about “normalizing” the mental health conversation.

Tyrone said that Bell Let's Talk inspired him to indentify how he could do his part and he started focusing his efforts on the lack of assistance for mental health in underserved communities, like the one he grew up in. “There are a lot of people who could use support with compounding issues that go unaddressed, including some that lead to irreparable damage. I want to talk about mental health because the people of my community will be better for it," Tyrone added.

“The words ‘in this together’ have not rung true for all Canadians during this pandemic, and many people feel more alone, vulnerable, and isolated than ever,” said Melissa. “From the long-term care resident, to the parent or student struggling with virtual school, to the remote community members needing lifesaving health care, everyone has a story and many need support. I hope this year’s Bell Let’s Talk Day continues vital conversations around how to support those struggling to cope because of this pandemic.”

Tune into In This Together: A Bell Let’s Talk Day Special on Thursday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV2, the all-new CTV.ca and CTV app, and streaming on Crave.
